I believe once you redeem the code, it goes into your library of games, to download whenever you want. I went ahead and installed mine but my sister just redeemed and isn't planning on installing right away.

I can't get it working on my Win 8 computer but fortunately I have an old one which loaded it OK. My poor founder is not having a good time of it as I struggle to grapple with the different controls and the way sims behave (or don't). He may die accidentally well before siring any kids.

So I actually have my other collection installed and have tried running both, they are both running fine. I haven't tried running bodyshop from my originals yet tho.

Edit:
Found a thread on the bodyshop thing:

This is so fun! So much nostalgia.

And it will tide me over nicely until Sims 4 is released. ;)

So does anyone have any tips on transferring game files over? Really want to do that but don't want to lose my legacy or anything.

If you make a copy of your legacy neighborhood folder you can continue playing your legacy family in the new game.

I just saved copies of all the files I wanted to keep on my desktop, and moved them into the appropriate new game folders once they generated. You will need to run the game once before the new folder for TS2UC will show up in the EA Games folder.

By the way, Sims Ultimate DOES have bodyshop and sims2pack.installer. They're in:

You don't have to download the game now. You have to download Origin if you don't have it and redeem your code. Once you've done that, you can choose when to download and install the game. It'll just sit in your game libraries until you choose to do that, but as far as I know, all you have to do is redeem the code before the month is out, not download or install it.

You can also register for an account online and redeem the code there, if you're not planning on downloading Origin right away.

I redeemed/downloaded it with no problem. I played a bit without all my CC before adding it in, well not all at once. I have my defaults and some of the clothing I made (aka recolored XD) with the old game, a couple of my mods as well that's it. I was only missing a few of the Stuff packs, it's pretty cool to see the new stuff. I'm going through my CC from the other game to figure out what I really want to keep/add back.
You can call me Chris or Shadow.

This is making me wish I'd kept my CC! I really should look for it in my old files and see if I saved anything.

I agree with how it's cool to see the stuff from stuff packs we didn't get. There were some I didn't get and I'm really interested in exploring all the content I missed out on.

This is great! Our old family computer could never handle the Sims 2 with too many EPs but the one I have now should no problem. I haven't played TS2 in forever so this should be a blast from the past. Going to download now!
Olivia. 28. I teach 5th graders and sometimes play the Sims.

So I installed it and played some of my BACC with it and I noticed a new thing: My children were sliding down the railings of the spiral staircases. (IDK if it's normal staircases too, I don't have any in that house, but I do in the next house so I guess I'll find out.) I'm wondering which pack that was added in? It's cute/cool/fun though, and saves a bit of time.

I think it came with Mansions & Garden; there were a bunch of new staircases in that, so I wouldn't be shocked if they put in that interaction in it as well :D

It's super fun discovering all the new content. I'm so glad my Thursday class was cancelled this week; more time to play!

I need some help, please! I've never installed any of the games as ultimate collections, just the base game and then each EP as they were released or as I bought them, so I don't know how ultimate collections are supposed to work on certain things.

Does it include the patches? Or because it includes all the EPs, are patches for the EPs before the last one already included?

I want to play the Ottomas family in a town I've created because I have a clean (no relationships and so on) version of it but I don't know if I need to patch the game (and which patch to get) to prevent the death twins glitch.
