So I thought I wouldn't be getting it, but the more I look, the more I want it. Hopefully I'll have the money for it sometime next summer, or my hubby to be will give it to me as a wedding present? lol

I was thinking birthday but somehow forgot to type it. I am sure you can find a special occasion that requires a gift.

I might just wait and ask my parents for it for Christmas or my birthday (in late January) depending on the reviews I see.

I didn't really play Sims 2. How are Aspirations different from the Sims 3 LTW?

Re: Are you looking forward to TS4?
Aspirations are Fortune, Family, Pleasure, Romance, and Knowledge. Whereas lifetime wishes are specific achievements, aspirations are more like a master trait. Romance sims like to date and woohoo. Family sims want to do family things. The aspirations influence the types of wishes they roll. The lifetime wants were tied to the aspiration and actually limited I believe. So Romance sim wouldn't have a lifetime want to raise a large family.

I'm actually so excited for The Sims 4, but kinda annoyed there is no Mac release date as of yet! The look of the game looks like it combines the best bits of TS2 and TS3, which sounds like the perfect mix to me. I am kinda bummed about there not being as CASt, but I'm sure players will find someway to create a tool that's pretty similar.

I'm pretty pumped, but not for the lack of toddlers... and pools! I love pools. Sigh. But I'm stoked for the building tools, and that CAS is just gorgeous. And Aspirations are one of my favorite things about TS2. So there's that.

Re: Are you looking forward to TS4?
I'm not looking forward to TS4. For me, the cartoonish graphics are a huge step backwards, especially considering the whole point of the game is to control your sims' lives. If I wanted a cartoon version, I'd play something else. And the changes to the trait system is thoroughly annoying - I want more options to personalise my sims, not less! The concept of all sims having a trait to help them with their LTW sounds like they're making the game too easy - sometimes I like the challenge of NOT having any skill-helping traits.
The lack of a colour wheel and CASt is another huge misstep - one of the things I hated about TS2 was that every time I wanted to get a new CC hair, I had to have multiple files for different colours, which hugely bloats the game. TS3 fixed all that with the colour wheel and CASt, but now we're going backwards again. I have very few CC objects in my TS3 game, as CASt enables me to personalise the in-game furniture well enough that I don't need extra items. But if we only have the option for a few different colours/patterns in TS4, that's going to change a lot.
I do like the look of the new building options, as someone above said, the ability to move or rotate a single room instead of having to rebuild an entire floor would be fabulous. But that may turn me into someone who goes into the game just to build, and that would take away a lot of the fun.
However, I am a notorious late adopter, and am only just getting into EPs for TS3, so it's going to be a while before I even think about buying TS4. And definitely not before there are toddlers in the game - they're my favourite life stage!
And honestly? $80 for a game is way too much. I might consider it if it was half that price.

Re: Are you looking forward to TS4?
It's been interesting seeing different opinions on the graphics of the game. To me, TS4 graphics couldn't be better; they're exactly what I've been waiting for since seeing the graphics that I hated in TS3.

Re: Are you looking forward to TS4?
I agree, Chase! I really like the graphics of TS4! They seem like an improved version of the graphics and sims in TS2, and that's still my favourite game. I don't really like the way the sims in TS3 look - to me, they all look alike except for the hair and skin colours.
Re: Are you looking forward to TS4?
Agreed Chase, I really didn't like the graphics of the sims 3! Sims 4 seems to be a bit of a mix of sims 2 & 3.
Eeeeek getting excited!!
