Introducing myself

Hi there!

Last week, I was looking for some Sims 2 challenges and I found this forum. It's such a nice thing to see there are more people still playing Sims 2! I started a BACC and after reading on this forum for a while, I decided to become a member myself.
My name is Jennifer, I'm 26 years old, married to a lovely wife and pregnant with our first child. I live in a small city in the Netherlands, so please bear with me if my English sucks  I'll try my best though and I can read and understand English very well, so reading all of your stories won't be a problem. I just won't upload any stories of my own, as I'm far too insecure about my own abilities of writing in English.

Besides Sims 2 I also own Sims 3 with all of its expansion packs, and the Sims 4 base game. I sometimes play Sims 3, but I always come back to Sims 2 somehow. I played Sims 4 a couple of times but I just couldn't get used to it.
I like to play without cheats, though I have some CC installed to make decorating more fun. My wife likes to build houses for me, which I decorate and use for my families.

So, yeah, I guess that's it for now. I'm looking forward to reading all of your stories!

Hi Jennifer, welcome! I played a lot of sims when I was pregnant and after, too, because we lived in a little country village and my daughter had to be in a cast to treat a hip problem so I felt very stuck. I don't know what I would have done without it.

I've never successfully done a BACC. I'm playing Sims 4 now and it doesn't lend itself well to BACCs as far as I can tell. So many people still love the Sims 2 that I tried to play it again a few months ago, but I couldn't go back and get used to it. Oh well...

I'm glad that you joined us :)

Hello Jennifer, and welcome to Boolprop! :coffee: :donut: :cookie:

You don't have to feel insecure about your english here! I'm swedish and my english isn't perfect either, but I think you can understand what I'm writing, and I certainly understood everything in your intro. And native english speakers make spelling/grammar mistakes too, so... No one is perfect! ^^

Welcome Jennifer!

Your English is FAR better than mine and I'm a native speaker :shifty:  I love seeing Sims 2 players still around, enjoying the game, and you'll find quite a few of them here! Even I dabble in it on occasion (though Sims 3 is my pick mostly).

Also congratulations to you and your wife! How far into the pregnancy is she, if you don't mind me asking? What an exciting time for both of you! :bounce:

Of course it's ok to ask! Actually, I'm the one carrying our baby and I'm 18 weeks along! We're so excited :) But the pregnancy is taking its toll on my body so it's pretty tough. Lots of time for Simming though!

Whoops, that's my bad! I read too fast!

I really hope the pregnancy gets a bit easier on you, but either way you can always stop by here and pass some time/get your mind off it!

Are you going to find out the gender or will it be a surprise?

We already know the gender, but we'll keep it to ourselves! :)) I was far too curious not to find out, lol.

Ooh! I'm the same way, I can't NOT know when it comes to things like that in my life. Either way, I'm excited for both of you! Regardless of gender let them be healthy, happy, and be part of the next generation of simmers!

Welcome to Boolprop!!!!!

Congrats for you and your wife on the baby!!!

Your English is great too, we'd love to read your stories, when you're ready to upload them.

I always end up returning to the Sims 2 as well, it's home for me.

Welcome Jennifer!
'nother (loyal) Sims 2 player here!
I am LOVING the 80's vibe in your screen-name so I had to come and say hello.
Right along with everyone else so far, I wish you congratulations on your upcoming motherhood. Maybe one day you can base a story around your experiences the two three of you have had?
If it makes you feel better what you've typed here doesn't give any hint at being non-English speaking, and some of us "native English-speakers" get our kicks off of doing English wrongly. We can't judge you too much! :D
Have fun nosing around Boolprop!

Aaaaahhh, late reply! Welcome to Boolprop, Jennifer! I'm kinda new too (joined in January), so I guess we're kind of in similar boats there.

As I said on your BACC thread, your English looks pretty good from where I'm standing. I think you might be a little hard on yourself. And this is coming from someone who's a bit of a grammar pedant and wants to be an editor.

It's also always cool to meet a fellow LGBT Simmer! Huge congrats to you and your wife on your impending parenthood. If you're as good a parenting team as you are a Sims 2 building/decorating team, I think you'll be great moms. :D
