Scotland!

I am an immigrant, I came to the UK when I was a child and I grew up here. I was never very happy when I lived in England and it never felt like home to me despite the fact that I'm basically British now in everything but paperwork. This changed when I came to Scotland for university, I've lived in Scotland for about 8 years now and even though I fell on hard times after uni that I'm only just clawing my way out of, this is home to me now and I don't want to leave.

I also recently got my permanent residency, yay!

My home country is Malta, many of you will most probably never have heard of it!

So here are a few quick facts about Malta:

1. It is a small island smack dab in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea
2. It's whole population totals around 400,000
3. It has a sister island named Gozo that is even smaller!
4. It's sunny most of the year round (it never snows)
5. Although we are a very small island, we have our own language, Maltese! It has semitic, italian and anglo saxon influences

Born and raised in Argentina, on the south of south america. What to say about my country?

• We are known for being the country of tango but almost none of us dance it.

• Being in the southern hemisphere means that our Christmas is never white, so I associate Christmas with summer holidays.

• We are a country made up of immigrants, mostly spanish and Italians because of the world wars and more recently from bordering countries.

• Territorially we are the eighth largest country in the world but we are only 45 million inhabitants.

• Together with Brazil we share one of the seven natural wonders of the world, las Cataratas del Iguazú (Iguazu falls), I visited them last year and they really deserve the place in the wonders.

• Our greeting is with a kiss on the cheek with everybody, even between men and strangers.

• Dulce de Leche. Enough said.

• Our Spanish is somewhat different from the rest of Latin America because we have what is called the voseo, which is a form of the second person of the singular different from the Latin Spanish. To us, "you" isn't "tú" but "vos". And we call our spanish Castellano.

I'd like the UK flag please!
I've lived in England my entire life, and in the exact same house I was brought home to after I was born! I briefly lived in Hull, a city in the north of England when I went to university for my undergraduate degree and it was very different to home. Where I live at home is a suburban commuter-town area (basically live about 40 miles outside of London and most people who live around here travel to London for work but don't want to live actually in the city!)
Despite it's many faults, it's my home. I'd love to live abroad somewhere in Scandinavia at some point in the future, but I think I'll always eventually come back home
I worked in London, England's capital city, for a couple of years and currently study at a university in London as well. My favourite thing to do in London is go to the west end (I guess London's version of Broadway) to see musicals

Proudly from the UK, currently living in Greater London. I love proper chippie chips and a cup of tea with plenty of biscuits to dip in. I'm obsessed with the London Underground. (except the Northern Line) I like Doctor Who. I'm pretty much your stereotypical British person I guess

It may not be perfect, but it's a great country, and I love living here, even though it rains a lot. But that just means it's really pretty in the countryside with all the flowers and grass. Someday I want to see the famous woods full of bluebells. I've also been to the New Forest which was beautiful. So many absolutely lovely places in the UK to visit without even leaving the country. And of course, everybody should visit London. I finally got to see the lights in Oxford Circus and Regents Street over Christmas and they were amazing. Regents Street had these huge glowing angels flying above and it was gorgeous. Puts our local town's efforts to shame.

And of course, we have the best chocolate. Honestly, I never get why people say British food is so bad. Roast dinners, fish and chips, shepherd's pie, sausage and mash...yum! And being able to get breakfast with PROPER thick rashers of bacon, none of this streaky stuff!! in a greasy spoon cafe. Sprouts with Christmas dinner and pudding afterwards with a mince pie. I could go on, but now I'm hungry.

I choose the American flag! I currently live in NYC and I have never lived anywhere outside the US. I love my life here and wouldn't trade it for the world. I don't always agree with everything my country does, but I still think we're pretty great. I love being in one of the most diverse cities in the world, makes for great food and culture!

I'm from Faroe Islands. It's hands-down one of the most beautiful places to live in, despite the rainy weather and the fact we want more sunny days As much as I can sometimes complain about it, it's my home. So that's why i've picked it. Here's some facts about my beautiful home:

We celebrated 50.000 people living in my country not so long ago. I think we're up to 51.000 now.
Faroe Islands consists of 18 small islands - there's only 1 island, that's truly uninhabited. We're in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
We're a self-governing country in the Kingdom of Denmark
We have many mountains, and our highest mountain is just 880 meters high.
Our national dress is stunning and 28-29th July is a party, when we celebrate our national holiday - and it's truly a catch-up meeting, where you end up seeing people you haven't seen in seven years.

Basically, I'm just a proud Faroese

I’d like the Ohio flag .

I have lived in Ohio all my life, and I can’t imagine living anywhere else. We have a delicious ice cream parlor near where I live, and fun little small towns with unique shops. There are plenty of places to hike and even some caves to tour too. There’s also the bigger cities to visit to enjoy city life. We have some interesting weather here, and you never know what the day will bring. I enjoyed quite a lot of snow days as a child, but there were also days in the summer where I felt like I would melt (a great day to go swimming). I like Ohio because of all the unique places and opportunities.

So I had to think long and hard about this.
I'm Canadian. I was born in Ontario and lived there until I turned 16. I was raised with 4 seasons, 2 official languages (french Immersion kid), and central heating.

But my Dad was Australian and I always told people I was Australian, too. Because when you're a kid, that's bragging rights. And then I moved here. And now I have vague seasons, no official language (contrary to popular belief, there is no official language enshrined in this country's laws. We've all just sort of defaulted to English because we couldn't be bothered to learn any of the over 300 Indigenous languages that used to be spoken here), and my apartment is always colder than it has any right to ever be indoors be in winter. And it's always too bloody hot at Christmas. And I also constantly explain that I'm from Canada but I've been a citizen since birth and I've lived here since I was 16 and yes, I still have an accent and no, I'm not American.

Why don't I go back? Eh, I'm here now. CBF'D moving internationally again. Besides, the spiders aren't so bad.

So, which flag and why?

I think I'll go for Canada. Because at this point, it's just gonna be all about which flag I like better. And the Canadian Flag was voted on by the people in 1965 to be a flag that belonged entirely to Canada. As opposed to Australia's flag, which...I have many mostly-politically-fueled reasons to dislike.

I'm mexican from birth, I come from a country that even with its bad things, it's always full of very welcoming and awesome people! we're family people, we take care of eachother over anything else, and if you're considered family or a friend by a mexican, you can be sure you'll always have someone to watch your back
Also, Mexico is a land of multiple traditions and legends, a rich culture that even living here you can't fully get to know so many beautiful historic places to visit, so many ruins and ancient civilizations, and also so many natural beauty that make this country trully special to me
