Whoops, sorry I missed this this morning! I was just going to wait until midnight had passed in the last conceivable timezone before locking the thread, but having read this I can absolutely leave it open until you get your entry in and just call it after that! :)
DSLady wrote:EDIT: Can we change the ages of sims - such as teens & elders to YAs?
I want to say that's fine as long as they are the same age in both the before and after pictures. So basically as long as the entire "makeover" process is done without changing fundamentals, if that makes sense?

THANK YOU!!
I got my entry in; I had so much fun with this! I'm also now considering using my entry in one part of my legacy, I ended up liking her that much. I will admit that I nearly forgot I was going to do this, and had booted up my pokemon game and was about to start a gym leader battle when I remembered... Hopefully I'll actually be on time for the next round!

Any chance you can wait until the morning (Eastern time) to close it? I didn't get a chance to makeover someone on Friday, and I won't be able to boot up my game until well after midnight Eastern. If you want to close the thread before then I totally understand! :)

Yay for more entries! I'm not in any hurry at all, so that's totally fine Emily - I'll leave it open until about noon EST, or until you've posted yours. :)

So, round two then? Is this going to be like the others where only the top three compete for the next round?

Nope, anyone is free to enter whenever they'd like to! As mentioned in the event description, it's more like Let's Build It where the rounds are independent of each other and people can participate whenever they have the time. :)

Ooh! Interesting one for round two, I might have to try this one on sims 4 (I like that build mode for actual structure stuff best)

Just wanted to say that I love this challenge and as soon as I get home I'll find myself a house to enter as well! I'm not so good at curb appeal, but I'll give it a shot!

Glad you guys are excited about this one! Admittedly I was a little worried it'd go stale after the first round because the original Fix That Ugly was only a one-time thing. :P But I have some more ideas up my sleeve!

I, personally, love Let's Build It! and since it seemed to have gone on hiatus(BTW I totally understand that life can be absolutely insane! I didn't mean it in a bad way), this is really scratching that itch of mine. Although I am having a heck of a time keeping my hands off the roof pitch tool! But that is mostly my perfectionism coming out. :D

Are we allowed to change the house ...

change the roof, doors, windows
add bits - like porches - garages - extentions ect

or do we have to leave the house exactly how it is

Hmm, I think yes to doors, and porches (adding, tearing down, or changing the railing style is fine).

For rooves, you can change the pattern/colour but not the pitch or shape, since I think that constitutes altering structure. Same goes for extensions and garages - basically try to stay away from using the wall tool.

If there's a general consensus that this is a stupid rule then we'll rethink things, but for now just trying to stay consistent with the theme. :P

Well having watched enough design shows like America's Ugliest Yards, as long as the house itself doesn't change shape or structure then it still counts as a facelift. So adding a garage would be changing the footprint of the house. For mine I left the shape intact I didn't add anything to it.

Oops. LBI being on hiatus is my fault. I got busy with my grad show, and never got around to picking the theme for the next round. I think I'll start it up again once this is finished, since it doesn't make sense to have two similar events running at once.

Like I said, it's not really a huge thing and I totally understand. I've been a little nuts lately too. With work and trying to study for my GREs, I've been out of energy. It's kinda why I've been kinda craving the structure of LBI and this. I can't derp around and have a deadline I can' fudge around with.

So no rush!
