I'm so glad that you guys jumped on this idea so quickly! I'm definitely going to participate with something completely new and see how it goes - now that my desk is actually clear again so I can play Sims :spin:

I am thinking about giving this a try also. Maybe it will be the incentive to actually start something in Sims. :)

So I have a quick question about the whole Houses thing? I missed that whole being sorted - or choosing, however it was done - but would like to contribute to a house during the challenge if I still can. Anything I can do about it?

TeeVee, you can still join a house. It's an on going event: http://boolprop.net/viewtopic.php?f=211&t=2414 If you sign up in that thread, you will randomly be sorted into a house! :D And then you'll see the subforum, and your points will be allocated to that house!

This is such a brilliant idea!! Major props to Michelle for the suggestion and to the mods for making it happen!

I definitely want to participate - it would be the perfect nudge for my legacy, which has stalled a bit over the summer. Unfortunately my updates there average about 120 screenshots and 3000 words, and I consider 2-3 posts a productive month  I might have to content myself with going for the bronze, or else I could take it as an opportunity to start something new... :hmm:

Since your chapters are quite a lot longer than the average gryffindork, you could just cut them down into smaller ones (if you wanted to).

This sounds like so much fun! Might give me the kick in the tail I need to get pictures edited and a story started on here. Been playing my undocumented genetacy til I catch up in editing/updating - err, and starting a thread for it. Me thinks I should play along!

As someone who's only done NaNoWriMo once because it was mandatory for a class on The Novel(spoiler-I failed miserably), this is intriguing me immensely :popeye:

My hesitance lies in which to pick or feeling guilty if I would start a new one for the exact purpose. I wish I could split the difference between the two I already have.

This seems so fun! If I can get around to an idea of some sort, I may join...maybe. :shifty: But I'm also excited to get to read all of the different stories!!

I will play since the urge to write is somewhat lacking this month, I want to play not write. But ten in a month? I may be able to do that since 20 slides is like tiny for me :fight: I may even do NaNo this year too.

I like how so many of us have used the phrase "kick in the butt/tail/pants" in reference to updating! I'm glad I'm not the only one who could use some extra motivation!

Of course, now I have to figure out if I want to work on any September updates for my legacy, or just wait to write everything until October. I have about 7-8 updates planned before the end of my current generation and an heir poll, and playing the Scatterdays again will be super fun, even if my old man laptop hates it. I'm not sure if I should work on an update tonight, or do some other Sims-related thing I've been meaning to do lately (like getting a Let's Build It entry ready or scribbling out some writing for next month's Writing Contest).

How about a cross-over?

I am SO excited about this! And unlike NaNoWriMo, which says you have to start something new, SimNaWriMo allows and encourages you to use something you already have, and as you can see, a lot of people are using it as that kick in the pants to get going again on a stalled out legacy/challenge/story. So, HOORAY!

Of course, if you really want to try something new, there's all of September to get planning on something, and find just the right project.

This is a tempting possibility! I should really think about cutting them down anyway, but I want all my generations to have about the same number of chapters, and I don't have the heart to cull that many screenshots. :sarcastic: Maybe I'll just see how I go with my usual chapter length... even if I get three updates out of this challenge, it'll still be three more than I've managed in the last several months combined.

Michelle! You Monkey Flipping GENIUS!!! :bounce: I feel like a mad scientist!! It would require some intense updating here in September, but it's early in the month and I have a lot of spare time....but there is a sim who hasn't been introduced in one of my challenges who I adore and I could pair them up with someone from the other one in a spliced up founding gen! Michelle!

So Sam and Michelle - my updates are usually very long too, but I'm hesitant to break them up, it'd change the pattern/flow I've had all along...

But I suppose it's up to me if I want to break it up for the medal - or accept that I like my posts long, and it is what it is...

I also think a limit must have been set, and 20 is totally reasonable... so I'm not complaining, just trying to figure out where I stand. :)
