An EPIC Medley (EPIC challenge) 6/5/19

So, while my Driftwood's are still my favorite family, I really wanted a change from them. And I was looking at this challenge and I thought it would be perfect to have some fun with, so I started playing it a while ago. But it turns out I really like writing stories for my sims, even if nobody reads them, or else I just...don't really play the family. Sooooo. I figured I might as well share this one.

You can meet the founder for this challenge now!

Thanks! And he is. I ended up in CAS at some point to fix the family's last names (I had MCC set to automatically rename them and I didn't want it to, oops!) and discovered the game calls him an Ibezan Hound. Except all the other pictures online I've looked don't look quite like him, so I'm having my doubts he's a true purebred there.

Spoiler:
Smeagol is so frickin' cute. I just want to squish his giant ears. My brain is struggling to pin his breed down. I haven't messed with pets in the sims 4 much. I didn't realize how many interactions the sims can have with pets. Serena and Smeagol sitting on the couch was just adorable!

Chapter 1.2 Is up!

I love Smeagol. So, so much. I've mostly just played with cats (because they're less work lol), so having large dogs is so cute and fun. And there are a lot of interactions I wasn't aware of!

Hey, this challenge looks so fun!
Spoiler:
I love the idea of an apocalypse lite challenge.

Ugh, keeping up pet lines is hard. I think it's because of how hard it is to find the right balance in ages, but who knows?

I love the little house! It looks so cozy!

I just read all the updates - I started my EPIC this week. Now I should go to work since I was supposed to leave 15 minutes ago. ;)

Update! Chapter 1.7

It really is fun! I'm happy I came across it.
Spoiler:
I love playing apocalypse challenges, but I've never completed one. I feel like this is a good way to warm up to one.

I think part of it is that I always have trouble having them actually have puppies/kittens! And not knowing how far they are from aging up/dying.

I've grown quite fond of the house too! Not sure what I would do for a fourth room. Maybe a kitchen/dining area separate form the living room...Not sure.
Haha, don't be late to work! I refuse to play Sims in the hour leading up to work because I'll find myself rushing to work. Just one more minute!

I have been late to work so many times because of that "one more minute, just one more thing, got to get to a stopping point, omg I am late".

I am at the founder is trying to unlock the fridge and gen 2 is a toddler stage - and I made the founder a vegetarian so she can't even eat the fish.

Also, we should move your thread over to the Boolprop Challenge Stories forum so it can be with the others.

Spoiler:
N'aww, I love the ghost dog keeping the monster away! That's brilliant!

(Psst, not sure you've got the space for it, but one way to avoid the monster without the night light is just to give the kids a double-bed. ;) ).

Ohhh, I didn't think of that Jenga, brilliant idea. I will keep that in mind for my soon to be child.

How do I move my thread? I didn't even think about it being in the challenge space. Oops!

I'm still working on unlocking the fridge! I have a hard time getting to the top of the gardening career...But I'm almost there!

I don't think that not eating fish will be problem. Honestly, they've mostly lived off fruits and veggies in their inventory, just because I'm too lazy to distribute fish. Although, now that I think about it, I wonder if getting a grill without a fridge is against the rules? I know there's that grilled veggies dish...Hrm.

Oh, I didn't know that a double bed would stop them! I think I might have room, but I'm not sure...Although, at least this time around, the monster didn't bother me too much.

I got you moved to the challenge forum, so there is that take care of.

My founder is level 6 and her spouse is level 5 so it is taking them awhile to unlock the fridge. Not eating fish is just boring. I don't think having the grill is against the rules because it doesn't use electricity, but being a vegetarian there are only a few dishes she will eat without getting sick. They eat the grilled fruits, baked potatoes, tofu dogs, and veggie burgers. With a fridge she should at least have a salad here and there. Also there are other meals on the grill that they have learned but aren't vegetarian safe.

I'm pretty sure the game's coding for the monster is just linked to single beds, rather than linked to child sims.
If you give a single adult sim a single bed in a household with no children, you'll still have options for 'spray monster under bed' when you click on the single bed. Wheras you'll never see that option for double beds. I know this because it took me ages to learn about the night light and I kept getting so annoyed with the monsters lol.

I'm terrible at updating this thread on time...

Chapter 1.8]
Chapter 1.9

I may have to try that double bed thing with the next generation. Could probably squeeze one in, especially since they'd only need to access one side of it.
