Aha, I finally found the one you kept talking about but that I was too shy to ask about. :awkward turtle:
Spoiler:
So I skipped the Strangerville bit because I haven't got the pack yet. Looked like a pretty clean break so I don't think I missed anything.
Don Lothario is literally the last sim on the planet I would pick for breadwinner/child-rasier but he seems to have managed it fairly well.
Poor Tulip, definitely the forgotten fifth child. I also think Hatch is super cute, despite his mother. I shall have to have Dustin babies at some point.

The StrangerVille portion only has minor spoilers for the pack, not much more than you would get in the trailers, and the mystery is over and done in chapter 1. Chapter 2 and 3 are just her having kids and not have any real direction. The Easter Egg challenge is a clean break as she started over from CAS, fresh without any history so you definitely didn't miss anything but some interesting toddlers.
Spoiler:
Hatch is adorable, but they all grow into their looks as teens.
Don actually does pretty good. I have used him as a founder before in other challenges. The thing with him is he gets tense from the non-committal trait so you just have to have other happy traits to counter-balance it, and they have a lot of environmental +1 and +2 that keeps him happier than tension from feeling trapped. And he makes really pretty kids, Stella's genetics notwithstanding.
I have lots of ongoing challenges and stories and I talk about them freely. Feel free to ask which one whenever you are curious. Right now I am only doing Stella because of the changes to the seasons - the others are on a normal season pattern and I will never remember to switch the settings back and forth. Once I finish Stella, I have lots to get back to [looking down at my signature at all of the active challenges]
