Marriage is not required.

Spellcasters are an occult, Patchy and Father Winter would not count. I didn't try for the temporary states - plantsim and skeleton, so that one is up for discussion.

Using this as a list...
Non-occult
Normal Sim

Occult
Ghost
Alien
Vampire
Mermaid
Spellcaster
Servo

Temporary state
PlantSim
Skeleton

Oh a list is a good idea. Thanks for that.

For my two cents, turning into a skeleton can happy by accident to a certain extent, since you can randomly get that blessing from a chest in the jungle. Making yourself into one certainly takes additional effort though. So far it seems like getting the plant sim fruit certainly takes a bit as well, since you have to get the magic seeds. I guess the question comes down to, does the effort required to get either of those non-accidentally (randomly from opening a chest) should count as getting that special state as an "occult?" I think I lean towards no, but I'm not sure I've played enough with the different occults to really give a strong argument either way.

Ok, with snow escape out, what do people think about the activities. I feel like hiking should be allowed pretty early on if not right away. Rock Climbing I maybe sometime after travel is unlocked?? How about skiing or snowboarding though? I feel like snowboarding maybe a little later, but skiing was around for quite a while. Just looking to take my family out there and don't want to do anything I shouldn't.

Happy Toddler (level 3 in all skills)... 1 point (must receive the Happy Toddler trait for reaching at least level 3 in all skills)
Every skill maxed... 1 point (this is for toddlers that don't max all skills, receive Top Notch Toddler trait. This can be added to Happy Toddlers to allow them the opportunity to earn 5 points)

All toddlers skills points cap at 5 points per toddler.
Can we get this info added to the front page? lol I was trying to figure this out for about an hour before I just decided to look through the thread :rotfl:

In generation 1 rules it says what both male and female careers each must enroll in. Does this mean both parents have to work or can one choose to stay home?

I would say one of the founders can stay at home, and sell things from the garden, fishing, or painting.

So obviously I'm still playing through the EPIC, so I'm not necessarily suggesting all of these things immediately take place, however, I was looking over everything and with all the updates to the game since this was created I think there are some things that could (and maybe should) change. I noticed a couple of generations didn't have a single base game career for the heir(ess).

Here are my suggestions, let me know what you guys think, like/dislike, etc.

Gen 1:
Remove astronaut (it fits better later), why can't both male/female founders pick between Chef, Military, and Gardening? (Chef could be your BG career)
I had thought about adding Part Time Jobs as options, but since this unlocks so much I think you would need to complete at least 3 to make it fair, so I stepped that back
Add, can have all farm animals

Gen 2: No changes

Gen 3: Add Astrotaunt (because otherwise, this gen doesn't have a base game since neither scientist or archeology is BG). This fits better with what is available.
Mini Challenge here could be to find all aliens and space rocks
Also include rockets are unlocked to build

Gen 4: Make this where kids can join drama club, and specify it should be Comedy (since Entertainment includes music that was done before)
Also unlock the ability to follow kids to high school (provided school doesn't have computers) and teens can be in the chess, football, or cheer clubs

Gen 5: Add Detective career as an option and follows path a. That way you have 2 ways to path b, and two to path a, Maybe if you choose Detective all kids get 'Good'. Let this gen (regardless of path) unlock sending an heir(ess) to uni, and they can join the soccer team if they want.

Gen 6a: Another currently with no BG career. I suggest adding Crafter and Freelance: Digital Artist. Sort of fits as creating art can be positive to the world, also path a just unlocked tablets, and I believe you can search for jobs on your phone (unlocked earlier) although there might be jobs that require a computer, I haven't played a TON with the freelance artist, but maybe??? This one is tough to fit a BG career into and this felt like the best bet.
Also unlock yoga (feels like a decent time maybe)

Gen 6b: Add Salaryperson
Unlocks the computer club for teens

Gen 7a: Add Civil Designer and Engineer, and then unlock teens joining computer club

Gen 7b: Only real change let this be when uni student could join e-sports, and also unlock yoga

Gen 8a: Another missing a BG career. Suggestion Freelance Programmer. Has computers now, so not an issue. Also add Law as an option and unlock e-sports for uni students.

Gen 8b: Add Interior Designer as a career option

Gen 9 - 10: No changes

Let me know what you guys think.

I like your idea of having animals from the start. Since I have not completed this challenge before, I can't comment on the rest except to say it sounds logical to me. @ciyrose
