I have two questions about the challenge.

1. I somehow missed the part in the rules about the spouse of the heir needing to be a stay at home parent. My gen 2 heir's wife has been working as a chef and is actually only one promotion away from reaching the top of the career. From my screenshots, I know when she earned promotions, what her work schedule has been, bonuses earned etc. I will delete the career rewards she earned (kitchen counters, appliances, etc) and use the money cheat to subtract her earnings from the family funds. Is taking away the money and rewards enough of a penalty or should I also subtract some points? If so how many?

2. For the stay at home spouse, it says they can earn money by doing things like painting, collecting, etc. Can they do the odd jobs that came with Island Living to earn money or do one of the Freelance Careers (like artist or photographer) that don't require them going to work?

Thanks!

I also missed the part about the number of kids in each generation, I counted my founder as generation 1 and he ended up having three kids named with D, E, A. They were single births, not multiples. I wanted to finish with the grandchild of my founder so each generation has three kids in it. Fifty books per generation so I'll have the 150 by the end of generation 3; also the spouse wanted to win the lottery...so since I have ITF I had her look up the numbers. I didn't see anything about it in the rules since it's a game mechanic/option not a cheat. And I moved them before the mail came the next morning and ended up losing Book 6 in the founder's fifty so far. So he's on 19 books now but I only have 18 in the book case.

1) That's more than enough of a penalty in my opinion! If anything, I'd say you could do that, or keep the money and have -15 point penalty

2) Yes! The idea is that they need to be home and available for the kids. If you can find any way to make money that has them staying home that's just fine.

Here's my offer for that
- Since you were supposed to have a single child only, substract -10 pts per each additional child.
- Naming theme should be followed for only valid children - or rename the children.
- Going into the future to see the lottery numbers is an acceptable cheat
- For book 6, as long as you had proof of it and explain how you lost it then its fine and you can consider that you have 19 books

Question about the money at the end - is this cash only or does it include the value of the house also? Cause cash only and my sims might be living in a tent at the end ;)

But seriously, checking since I am building a scoring spreadsheet.

Well the other two kids are spares anyway, the first born was the only witch so he wins the heirship by default and he's already started on his fifty books, he has six done so far. His two will have E and A names. I don't usually count points anyway.

ok, I am confusing myself on the generation counting.

I am counting the founder as gen 1 (D). She will have one child (E). (E) will be gen 2 and will have two children (A1 and A2). The youngest (A2) will be gen 3 and have three children (E1, E2, E3). Etc.

Your starting sim is your FOUNDER
who is responsible for creating Generation 1

so your founder sim needs to have 1 child = D
