Has anyone else been prepping? How's it going for you guys?

I've been trying to, but school is keeping me very very busy. I should have some spare time to work on it.

I'd really like to participate this year, but I'm not sure if I can with the current challenge I'm playing. I'm planning on posting by the generation, but it feels like a cop-out to say I just want to get two posts done in a month(which is as much as I can realistically do with my schedule). I mean each post, based on the work I'm doing on the first generation post, is at least 200 photos and will be several thousand words.

Please do participate! You're more than welcome to! It's not a cop out at all! Some just want to get word chapters out! Even if it's just one that counts! I know some who aren't even going to POST but want to keep track of chapters they write (and will post at a later date beyond July)! Please don't feel like you need to do "more" to count. Even one update alone would be sufficient, so long as it was a challenge for you and one you wanted to pursue!

I currently have two of my ten chapters finished. I'm realizing now, that my picture goal might have been a bit of a stretch. At least I'm not having trouble writing. It was surprisingly easy to get back into that. I'll figure something out somehow!

Same here on the pictures. I am on track to do half of the pictures, so I have to work on increasing that.

And, at the last minute, I am going to change what challenge I am playing, so I am starting from scratch today.

I have managed to play 1 house but still, haven't blogged it. I have got to start taking more pictures though as I don't think I will be anywhere near my goal if my picture count stays that low. We will see though. I'm starting to get inspired and getting into it but I haven't consistently played the hood I'm doing for a while so I'm having to refind the voices I've used. It takes a little longer, but I'm excited to see where it all goes. It will be fun to devote some actual time to this hood again.

I'm super behind due to a bedbug scare and subsequent feeling like an idiot.

there are no bedbugs, by the way, but I've wasted 3 days I was going to work on it in a panic

Well... I just signed up, with a goal and a bonus goal no less. I was going to put the Bookacies first, but with the text already existing and the picture count being potentially low for this one, I didn't feel like I could do that. So Lakewood it is. Now I'm telling myself not to panic about the goals. If they can motivate me to reach them, great. If I don't make it, well, at least there'll be progress.

By the way, I quite like the new personal goal system. With my snail's pace, this fits me much better than the set goals from before.

I’m about 90% sure about participating this year, but I may have to post the first chapter of my challenge during the event. It’s been a busy/emotionally stressful couple of weeks and I haven’t had the time(and sometime motivation) to work on it more.

I'm SO glad to hear this! I was really hopeful that people would like this new system! Also really happy to see someone else going for more than one goal! We can do it!

I'm so excited to say the medals are all live for this event, I'm finalizing the "progress" banners, and I'll be working on "completed" banners for everyone too! I'm not sure where's the best place for "General Announcements" so I'm lumping it in here.

Quick question, how do people handle word/picture counts. Do you post it on the update thread, post it on the entry itself, or something else? I'm just curious about what people tend to do since this is my first year participating.

I do both - show it at the bottom of the post and then also include it on the update when I post the link.
