Some Sort of Legacy: Finale!

I found out recently that there's a way to age up children in the Sims 1, meaning that it might be possible to play generations of sims. So essentially, this is an experiment to see how that would actually pan out! So I'm aiming for five generations, and bringing you all along for the ride.

Let's see how this goes!

Chapter 1: Love and Magic
Chapter 2: Magicians in the Snow
Chapter 3: For the Love of Pickle
Chapter 4: The Golden Age of Studio Town
Chapter 5: A Ride on the Space Seahorse
Chapter 6: Camping and Romancing
Chapter 7: Tuxedo Makes Gnomes
Chapter 8: The Little Purple Dragon
Finale: Waiting for Giants *new*

I really enjoyed reading this! Made me super nostalgic and I can't wait for the next update!
You are so right about the food, I had completely forgotten what it looked like and when I saw the picture I was like "aaaah"!

This is so much fun to read! Makin Magic was always my favorite, so I love seeing all the magic stuff. I think I did have sims get married in sims 1. Maybe? Honestly it’s kind of hard to remember. I forgot about the food looking the same too. Anyway I can’t wait to see what’s in store for your little family! Do you know how long you’ll leave Pickle as a kid?

I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I'm hoping to have more soon!
Strange what things we remember and what things we forget, isn't it? :)

108sims:
Glad you enjoyed it! It was definitely my favourite expansion. I really am going to try for a wedding without magic at some point! There's so many small things I had forgotten about, it's really fun experiencing them all again! I'm honestly not sure how long to keep Pickle a kid for - there's no days of the week in TS1, so it's hard to keep track of the time! I think they'll be kids for a minimum of 4 days as the spell backfires if they have a grade lower than an A- and they start on a B-, so there's that at least.

Thanks, guys!
I've had a lot of fun playing with TS1 over the last week or so, and I'm pleased other people are enjoying it too!

Glad to hear it, it's so much fun to play! It's all so much more difficult than newer versions of the sims :D
It amuses me that dancing in the kitchen = baby in TS1

This. Is. Fantastic.

Seriously, makes me fondly remember my Sims 1 days (Which I will pretend happened when I was just a tiny young thing and not an adult making creepy photo-realistic skins of everyone I knew LOL). In addition, I'm wholeheartedly loving the names. And the appearance by Betty Newbie!

This is super interesting! The feels!!! I played very little at sims 1 and I had almost no expansion, so I don't remember much, my first real game was sims 3. But this gives me nostalgia feels.

(I'm going to follow Erin's path and pretend I wasn't an adult either).

Thank you!
I'm glad it's bringing back good memories - regardless of how old you were :D I was never very good at making skins! Pickle got his name because I drew a complete blank when the dialogue box came up

Thanks! I'm glad it's giving you nostalgia! :D

Keep the updates coming! I'm loving seeing how you're doing this in TS1! I saw when you said about not having another baby that you're keeping the house spaces clear for heirs and partners. Do you intend to have all generations living together? Interested to see what else will happen in this challenge. Your Sims make me laugh so much!

I just love how ridiculous the fire looks in Sims 1. It's a lot scarier than the other games with that giant flame!

I always loved the roller coasters in Magic Town. They were so fun!

Yes a vacation! The Vacation pack was my absolute favorite in TS1.

Pickles is certainly unique.

I love find out about things such a long time ago. I don't remember the igloos and I think the only vacation I went on was by the sea (I think it could be sims 2)

sueplaysims:
Glad you're enjoying it, it's a lot of fun to play! I don't think there's a way to move sims out, and as sims don't die of old age, I have to keep as many slots in the family open as possible :D There's still not going to be enough space, even doing it this way! I'll cross that bridge when I come to it, though. Thank you so much!

108sims:
They're a lot more common in TS1, and I think a lot deadlier!
I love the roller coasters, how great would it be to ride one in real life??
This isn't the last we'll see of Vacation Island I assure you :D
I adore Pickles, he's one of a kind

Salem:
I played with it a lot, and yet there's so much I've forgotten! I do love the snow areas <3 Glad it brought back memories for you!
This family is very extra, isn't it? I love it.

peachy123uk:
I've forgotten a lot of the features, so it's pretty neat being reminded of them all! There is water on the TS1 "beach" lots, but yeah could be TS2 :D

Thanks guys!

I just love this family! Pickles and his helmet are so funny. With cakes all over the ground, at least they'll have something to eat for a while!

Only read the first chapter, but great so far! So much fun to see Sims 1 again after all this time. It really makes me remember how much fun I had playing this as a....kid, yeah little kid....not teenager/young adult.

I forgot the food all looks the same, too funny. I really do like the magic stuff, and it's making me wish I had taken the time to get Makin' Magic and try it out. I love all the crazy spells. I cannot remember if I did marriage in 1 or not, I feel like I did, but I cannot remember anymore. Too many years, too many computers ago. :fluffy:

Ok, your second update had me laughing so much! I love it.
Spoiler:
Pickle's little wizard hat is just too perfect for him, such a joy, and I completely forgot how they grow up in the weird swirl of colors. :) I also loved the "censor" glitch while cooking. Really what WAS he doing to that food? :P Wow there is a bear too, and she steals honey from the hive. That makes sense, but so cool! Betty the Yeti is a little unsettling, I will agree. His "grow up" outfit just proves that EA always made the weirdest clothing/accessory choices for sims upon growing up. :)
I do love the fires in TS1, they are much crazier, no missing them. Sims still flock to fires, but they seem to get less close as often, at least in 2. :)

I also had no idea fairy dust was a think kids could get, ok ok, I didn't even know it was a thing. Man, I really missed out by not continuing to play after....Hot Date maybe??? *pulls up google* yes, hot date. Wow, I missed 4 expansions!!! I clearly slacked. I do remember I had kind of gotten over doing the same thing over and over again, but man, 4 expansions is a lot for me to have at least not picked up....I'm disappointed in myself. At least I have you to show me all the fun I missed.

Ok, caught up on all of the posts you had done. I'll have to follow this so I find out what happens going forward. :)

I didn't mention this last time, but I do love the name, Deadward Strange. I sort of what to use it for something. :plumbob:

I will say, with the fact there is no autonomous aging, it does make it feel like you are on less of a time strain to get everything done, which is good because it appears sometimes it takes quite a while to get everything needed.

So the food looks different here than it did before. Is that Magic Town's doing? Very interesting about the cake and the prince....so fascinating all the things there are to find in these games. Ok, that gets me all caught up. Thanks for sharing this, it's too much fun!
