I waited so long for updates that I forgot to check for them and now I'm behind! Oh, no!
Well, I just read chapter 18, and my jaw literally dropped. WOW! I can't say more than that just now. Just, WOW!
OK, off to read more, and see if I can scrape my jaw off the floor before it drops all over again, which would be awkward, because I have no basement. I'd have to dig it back out.
Edited to add: Caught up to 20, and good golly! Just... GOLLY!
Spoiler:
So, Professor Clemence and Professor Luken are the same age, roughly. How's that work in this world? I WANT DETAILS!
Also, Egan is a dense doofus, sometimes, yeah. He has a great head for literature, but not numbers and not people. But I swear, Luken is training him to be a successor, or something. Like a Plan B, in case something awful happens in the upcoming war, which he KNOWS is coming. Gods do die, after all. And having a successor already prepped and ready to go, just in case, and ready to live his own life, if he's not needed to step in, is a GOOD plan.
Wait, didn't I remember something about Luken and Clemence having a child, before? Or something? Or am I not remembering right? I'm only operating on about an hour's sleep today, so probably got it all wrong.
