Destrudo's Despair: COMPLETE with Epilogue (9/20/20)

I started this challenge because a) I've never even attempted it before, so I want to put my simming skills to the test, and b) I wanted to do some laidback writing while I work on my plotty story. Hence why this challenge will primarily consist of humorous commentary. Expect major fourth-wall breakage and other general lunacy.
I will be following the ApocaBorg rules, which can be found here.

I tried out an Apocalypse challenge a while back, and I really like the progression based gameplay (so.thing that's missing in the Sims, for good or ill). But I've never seen someone go through it so I'll be looking forward to your updates!

Thank you! I appreciate the feedback. I've already played through quite a bit, so expect an update soon.

Thanks Marnie! It'll be a fun journey for all of us, I'm sure.

I'm impressed you were able to top a career so quickly! Maybe it's because I've spent a few years away from 2, but I was never able to get my Sims through a career that quickly. Congrats on lifting your first and second restrictions! (Are you using these rules here?)

Spoiler:
It took a lot longer than it looked, haha. She got the skills and friends she needed from college, but waiting for the right job to show up as well as those blasted chance cards set me back a little!
That link only goes up to Seasons I believe. This is the ruleset I'm using, which covers all the EPs.
Angela's clothes very interesting, the children are growing up well, soon have some more restrictions lifted.

Spoiler:
Oh, that poor family. I'm glad you got Medical and Service Pet unlocked so early; they seem to be two of the hardest barriers to overcome. Funny thing, I actually got Sims 2 in the first place because I thought of trying the Apocalypse Challenge, but at this point, I'm not so sure!
Angela's elder outfit is... um, was she going for the Goth look? Otherwise, I've got nothing.
By the way: I think I know why the barbecue grill kept catching on fire; IIRC, it always does so if used indoors.
Hope things get a bit easier with the next generation.

Spoiler:
If that's the case with the grill, then it makes sense. I can't place it outside anyway due to Music so it's just going to rot in someone's inventory.
I'm also glad those two restrictions are out of the way, was really the luck of the draw to find a townie who was level 8 in that career. Although I definitely think I was crazy for thinking I could have a pet in the household without Culinary unlocked. I was always dreading the worst after getting all of those "Kobe is starving!" popups.
Hehe, I'd say you should go for it! You'll probably have to read the rules 20 times to make sure you're not cheating, but I'm kind of enjoying the challenge and picking which restrictions to lift first etc.
Congrats on the surprise Culinary lift! That's a real life saver, especially for a household with pets. I've also never seen relatives give each other back rubs before... Maybe it's just because the idea of giving my brother a back rub is ugh. Then again, I'm not an evil genius.

Spoiler:
Yeah, it's just strange to me because I typically consider backrubs to be a romantic gesture(in the Sims at least). The family was doing okay with rationing, but yes, those blasted pets really mess up the food schedule. Love 'em, but when they eat sim food, they eat a lot of it.
