Build a City Challenge Chat
Re: Build a City Challenge Chat
I just started round 10, and had a bit of a baby boom. Two families who wanted 10 kids, and in a moment of weakness (literally, I am sick at the moment, and low-level feverish), I indulged them.

It'll make a great population boom. I too have trouble resisting that particular want.
Made some decent progress on catching up with writing last night. May have another update out tomorrow which is exciting. Playing into Week 8 and all my mega houses are sending kids off to college and becoming more manageable again. Except they have these giant houses and only three sims living at home.

Re: Build a City Challenge Chat
I just have one more day of work and then I'm on spring break, which means lots of simming time! I'm excited to play my BACC a lot. I added a fourth household this round and just need to finish editing her pictures so I can post the update. I'm hoping to unlock a business district soon since one of the Sims should hopefully top Business next week and then I just need 10 community lots.

Looking forward to your updates, Carissa!
I really wish I liked running businesses more. My SM is growing so slowly because I just don't have an interest in everybody opening up a business.

I tend to have people buy businesses, but then I rarely play them. I think this is the first BACC where I've actually gotten a business up to level 10.

Re: Build a City Challenge Chat
Silver Bend is getting to the point where not all households need to run a business anymore. I still have some business ideas I want to build, so new businesses are still going to be built. But those sims that want 5 top level businesses are going to carry the bulk of the weight. Some of the level 10 businesses I'm not going to visit again unless the families need money from them, or teens need badges.

Re: Build a City Challenge Chat
Im at the same point Pony. Most of my sims don't need a business anymore but I might still have them run one since I don't mind it too much. Like Johnny Broke might open up a fish market just to make money and get a gold fishing badge to be an oceanographer. But I dont know. We shall see.
My main goal is to just grow the population as much as possible to get to 50.000. With all the kids the Gay family had it should be easy as pie.

Re: Build a City Challenge Chat
I just unlocked a Business District in Blackridge Isle. I'm currently internet-less so I'm playing a lot, which just means I'll have lots of updates to post when I get internet back. Right now I'm on my third family for today.

Re: Build a City Challenge Chat
I have internet again! I just posted one of the updates and I might post another tonight if I don't fall asleep. It may only be 8:30 pm, but my eyes are getting that kind of heavy burny feel that means I'm really tired.

It's always sad when your founder(s) gets close to death.

Original residents dying off is always hard! My graveyard is actually getting use now, and it's kind of sad.

I'm not looking forward to my next rotation. I know I'm going to lose at least one sim.

Not sure if it helps lighten the mood at all, but I recently discovered the joy of family photos. They're not as good as I would like, and they are difficult for me (my disability affects my fine motor skills), but they're so cute! Highly encourage people to do them.

I love family photos, I'm working about being better about remembering to take them.
