So I've started a Sims 4 challenge of my own devising (sort of).
I was looking through the Sims 4 in-game achievements and there are some pretty interesting ones. I thought maybe instead of imposing the rigid structure of a legacy or other challenges with all their rules and restrictions about who can move in, who can move out, where they can live, what traits they can have, etc, I would 'let loose' with simply starting a game file in which I shall aim to complete all of the achievements.
Apart from a rule about no overpowering cheats, I'm playing this super relaxed. The game is set to age only the active household so it should eventually develop into a loose rotation-style file, but for now I'm just starting with one household. I may add new households later.
I'm just slowly slowly getting used to sharing/uploading game stuff, so please be gentle.

Aww, thanks Teresa. Means a lot coming from the TS4 Guinea Pig.
Got the last one up for tonight! I'm all caught up with where I am in game now, finally. Means I'll need to find an opportunity to play before I can update again.
This was fun to read! I've thought about doing something similar, but every time I start making headway something messes up and I have to move my family to a new save file to fix a bunch of glitches.
Very sweet family! The kids are super cute and they're all so accomplished! By the way, I'm pretty sure teens are immune to emotional deaths post-Parenthood. I'm interested to see your list of achievements and how you plan to get others. It's a fun, relaxed story and I'm enjoying it!

TBH still terrified this could happen. Especially if I insist on rotational play. Fingers crossed I guess? If this crashes and burns for me, it'll just get added to my long list of never-completed challenges.

Haha, a couple of years ago I was spending time on Carl's Sims forum which seemed to be all about power-playing the game. Picked up some bad habits (like the household club - basically there's a club for members of the household. The only club activities are cleaning and fixing things so they don't get annoying about ONLY doing club activities, but they're almost always in a club gathering and thus benefit from the club perks) so now not pushing everyone into over-achiever mode feels like under-performing.
The list of achievements is literally just the in-game ones you can see when you go to the menu. (these ones). In terms of what I have so far, nothing too exciting. A few skills maxed, the easy ones like 'in the game', 'loner', 'all-nighter'. I'll do a recap if I think of it of all the ones I have so far. I do plan on making a big deal of some of the more interesting ones when I get around to them.

My problem with rotational play is that I want all of them to have kids. Often at least two. But that quickly becomes unmanageable!
I'm definitely going to run into that problem soon, trust me! I'm thinking I might still play some but leave them out of the story, but I plan to just work it out as I go along. (In other words, the plan is I don't have a plan. ).
This has been a fun challenge to read. Good luck on getting all of the achievements! Your little family is so cute, and they are a joy to read about. I love playing rotational gameplay, but it can get out of hand sometimes. I do agree with you that I don’t like some of the changes Seasons made, collecting plants outdoors is the most frustrating part. At least building a greenhouse allows them to grow no matter the season. I can’t wait to see what Benjamin and Bethany get up to next!
