Re: Build a City Challenge Chat
If my calculations are correct, I'm done with the challenge! I just earned another 27 universities, bringing my population to 73,000+ with my unused CAS! I'm still going to finish out this round and add enough CAS families so that my "official" population is over 50,000!
This took 3 in-game years, and almost 5 real life years!

What do you classify as in-game years pnkpnthr?
And congrats! Never thought of more then a few universities, now I see how that would be useful to get SM up.

Thanks, everyone! It feels great to finally finish my favorite challenge. I have a few more households to play, and then I'm declaring it officially complete!

Is food poisoning considered an illness?

On the Sims Wikia, it is listed on the Illness page in the Sims 2 section. So I would say that it counts as an illness.

Re: Build a City Challenge Chat
For the first time ever, I have unlocked a university (thanks to a tramp sim that was charging $25,000 a ticket to her dance club). I only have two teens who are going. Does a dorm/rental count as another household or only when they return home?
I'm pretty annoyed with my people overall. They are more interested in babies than topping business. I have four level 10 businesses, but no tycoons. I can boast that one household gave me twins and two sets of quads. Yes. Thanks game.
I think my population is now 702 (74 playables +4 graves) and they all descend from my original five families as I started with Nepheris' version of the rules, but switched to a different set in round 3. I think in round 5 everyone is getting birth control and locked in separate rooms for extended periods of time.
I am also sitting at 3 fires, 1 electrocution and 0 burglaries, which really, really stinks.

Re: Build a City Challenge Chat
Congrats on the University! I just discovered from a BaCC I saw posted on Tumblr, that bags of money wished for with the Genie are good for attracting the burglar, though I haven't had a chance to try it myself.
Re: Build a City Challenge Chat
Currently working towards getting a Business District in my BaCC, got 4 sim-owned community lots so far, only one to go
