Sims 2 crashing

My Sims 2 keeps crashing only now and then and usually when saving or going to a new house/neighbourhood. Is there anything I can do to stop it?

Ah yes the crashing. The only time I had that happen when I was playing Sims 2 was when I had Mansions and Gardens installed with Apartment Life. Not sure why, but those two did NOT LIKE one another. So I took off M&G and it worked fine. But if you have the Ultimate Collection, it SHOULD work fine. I had separate discs. Usually it means you need to delete the cache files in the main folders, that is usually the main cause of crashes.

I have everything all on discs. Ok I will try that.

I haven't loaded back up again yet. It won't crash straight away it crashes every few days.

Ah okay then. Try clearing out the cache files, that usually helps if you've had long play sessions.
