I usually use the batbox to stop first born syndrome, much more effective than just dice rolling in CAS since I don't really know how many times you're supposed to do it so that it "works."

Generation two is almost here! It all happens so fast! I'm always torn between wanting to stay on the current generation or move on to the next one. I'm guessing you probably want to move on to the next one so you can at least have your sims leave the house.

I'll admit, at first I was like "Who's Elijah?"

I totally don't blame you for forgetting that some of the kids exist. I do that when I just have two kids, and here you are with eight!

With poor households I usually go for takeout delivery instead of groceries if it's allowed. Cheaper and much more filling than something that low cooking skill produces.

Also regarding the batbox, under the 'Fix' pie there's an option to rerandomize the sim generator, which will then exit the lot without saving but stops first born effect. And you can just delete the box after you're done using it.

I'm kind of not surprised that Mar had an affair. I know you mentioned she has romance secondary, but in my experience, family sims are just as crazy about love as romancers, if not worse.

I've been reading this for a while, so I thought I'd comment:

Wow, this looks to have been a rough start. I mean, having to have seven children right after starting from scratch? I'm glad you made it, though.

Don't feel too bad about forgetting Elijah; I had done so, myself.

It's kind of funny, I've been trying to do a farming challenge myself, and I quite agree that tomatoes are needy little buggers. I'm kind of wondering if it might be easier to kill two birds with one stone and rely on gardening for income at the beginning in order to get a gold badge earlier? (Although ixnay on doing any other challenges for now.)

Mar and her kids are adorable! Here's hoping Ella and her future family have a happy future awaiting, and that things get easier.

Ella seems to have lots of romantic prospects. Also I agree, bringing a friend along on a date is super awkward for all involved.

It's always sad to see the founders grow old, but at least Mar and Clarence are still very much in love.
